This is our 15th stay at The Stable. We have loved staying here over the years and have celebrated so many happy memories here. From special birthdays to special anniversaries. I can’t thank you enough for such a wonderful place to stay. We were completely comfortable. In fact, waking up in the morning, laying in bed, I felt as though I was a little girl waking up at grandmas house. All the amenities were perfect. It took me a couple of attempts but finally got myself familiar with local public transport. We’re sad to leave, but have many memories to take home to the USA.

Nearly 4 years since our last visit and just as good as we remembered. We used “The Stable” as a real little home from home while we visited and helped family nearby.

What a gem! We wish we had discovered this years ago. It would have saved us from the local hotels – good but can’t compare with the facilities here! Even within walking distance of daughter & family. To slightly misquote the Terminator “We’ll definitely be back!”

We arrived to a very warm welcome and were truly delighted with “The Stable”, it definitely exceeded our expectations, and the cake and bread were absolutely delicious! This little haven is so well equipped and comfortable, wished we were staying longer!
Mike was so kind in “Taxi”ing us to a function in Eastleigh, to make our evening even better.

We came away and did plan to go off to so some National Trust properties, but we didn’t feel much like that, so one day we just stayed in and chilled out. “Excellent” holiday let, and for us it again is an excellent stay. Thank you, see you again.

Superbly appointed accommodation made for a great stay. Didn’t manage to make friends with the dog! At 6’7″ there was a risk I’d take take out the light fittings, but managed without incident.

Just a short stay on this occasion. It was a bit cold, very unseasonable at -7, but we still enjoyed our stay. The decorations were a lovely touch, very festive. Thanks.

The big plus for us was the Welcome Pack – home baked is the best! The fact that the Stable is small did not matter to us as we were out most days visiting our daughter. We usually only choose properties with a king size bed but the double bed was comfortable.  It would be helpful to only include pics of the Stable when advertising, not Ramblers Retreat.

Yet another great stay at this wonderful cottage – as always everything perfect and a super welcome pack. Hope to be back before this year end if there is any space! This cottage is very popular and rightly so.

Following a leak and water damage to our home we were dreading going into temporary accommodation. Then we arrived at this beautiful, cosy cottage, with its tranquil setting and everything we needed for our stay, it soon felt like a home away form home. Mike & Hilary have been so kind & welcoming and we will definitely be be back to see Freddie (pup) and for some lemon drizzle cake! Every morning we were breated by Robbie the robin tapping at the kitchen window. Unfortunately we  both had colds and having this lovely place to hebernate was great. Thanks for making our ordeal a little easier.

As always a wonderful welcome & fabulous stay, with a couple of days in Portsmouth and our annual Revival weekend. Your little cottage is a perfect home from home.

Thanks, a lovely place to stay with all facilities needed plus lovely touches, such as the cake & bread etc on arrival. Pre arrival & communication was very efficient too. Location is perfect for local attractions – walks, beaches, and day trips to Southampton (IOW) and Portsmouth. Locality is excellent for shops & eateries – would recommend Brigadier Gerard for nice food & great service. If travelling to Portsmouth, use Park & Ride.

Hilary & Mike are the perfect hosts, such a lovely couple, nothing too much trouble. A perfect cottage, location and everything you could need for a short or long stay. The cosy accommondation was ideal for me, and when my husband feels able, we will come together to enjoy all all that is on offer. Thankyou for the provisions, the cake was “to die for”!

A lovely compact cottage with all the home comforts you could possibly need. We very much appreciated our welcome pack. Lovely to know that you are always there for a chat without being intrusive. We enjoyed a trip to the New Forest cycling around Lyndhurst, Beaulie and Brockenhurst with a lunch stop at the country pub of “The Alice Lisle” in Ringwood.(good views but overpriced). Less than half an hour away is Lee-on-the -Solent beach. Well worth a visit and free parking along the sea front. We had a lovely walk through the local Itchen Valley Country Park and further afield the Titchfield Haven Reserve , as well as some lovely walks around Horton Heath countryside. We tried the sausages from the the local Owtons butcher and they were delicious. A fantastic break, thank you, – and for providing us with a tarpaulin to cover our bikes.

A lovely place to stay – the delicious welcome pack a treat for a husband who doesn’t normally get home made (or any) cake! A small, extremely well equipped mini home, so well placed for local beauty spots. The Hamble Point walk mentioned in the folder was a real find and one of our longer walks together with a couple of days in the New Forest. A mention too for the Lapstone Pub doing a good job under some lockdown restrictions. A perfect break which has charged our batteries . Bring on the Summer sunshine!
